Dear friends and colleagues,

I would like to thank you all for having supported the Split Guitar Festival in the past three years. I started that project three years ago in cooperation with Mense Medio company. We have proved that all it takes to bring the world’s most prominent guitar players to Croatia is a little bit of enthusiasm and persistence. I also hope that this will be a guiding light for all future and present generations of guitar players in Croatia and that events like this will be held more often in the future.

With this mail  I am announcing my decision to leave the position of the festival’s artistic director, as well as all other functions and obligations related to the festival, after three years of its successful existence. I will dedicate myself to what I feel is my priority, and that’s playing the guitar!

Once again, I would like to thank you all,

Best regards from Dugi Rat,

Petar Čulić.

Zagreb guitar trioThis year’s April in Split will once again echo the impressive sounds of the distinguished masters of guitar. The third International Guitar Festival and the first Music Fair will take place between 15th and 19th April in the premises of the primary school ‘Bol’, the Croatian Army’s Hall in Lora, the newly-built University Library, the Hall of Youth and the City Library ‘Marko Marulić’ in Split. The interesting thing about this year’s edition of the Festival is that it features international and Croatian musicians in the ratio of 70% to 30%, which makes it considerably different in comparison with other international festivals where the situation is usually vice versa… It is already a well-known fact that the initiator of this festival and the artistic director of its previous two decisions is our young musician from Dugi Rat, Petar Čulić
