Eight graduation concerts marking the end of the first year of the postgraduate studies at the Koblenz International Guitar Academy were held on Friday, the 18th of December. The concerts featured numerous guitarists from Russia, Italy, the USA, Spain, England, Turkey and Croatia. The appointed examination committee consisted of some of the world's most famous guitarists - Hubert Käppel (Germany), Aniello Desiderio (Italy), Dale Kavanagh (Canada), Goran Krivokapić (Montenegro), Günter Schillings (Germany) and Alexander S. Ramirez (Peru).
Petar was given the highest possible grade, 1.0, and the critiques which followed the concert were truly excellent. Professors pointed out that Petar already has everything he needs to be one of the world’s best guitarists – great technique, musicality, tone and the way of thinking. Most listeners admitted that this has been one of the best concerts they have ever attended, particularly referring to the compositions: Rossinianne No. 3 by Mauro Giuliani, Drei Tentos by W. Henze and Petar’s own composition M whose mystique and musicality really delighted the audience. Thanks to this amazing performance on the 22nd of May, 2010 in Koblenz Petar will play as a soloist with the Rheinische Philharmonie performing the most popular guitar concert - Concierto de Aranjuez!

In the beautiful atmosphere of St.Anthony’s church, Petar Čulić successfully finished his studies at the Arts Academy in Split. He successfully performed his graduation concert in the crowded church and in pleasant atmosphere. He also held a touching speech in which he announced his determination to remain living in Dugi Rat, despite the great array of possibilities that would open to the young musician if he should choose to move abroad. After the speech, Petar received a very long and sincere applause of support from his audience. |

Monday, 7th January, day to remember – when you listen to the performance by 4 most promising guitar players in Croatia, and it is well known that Croatian guitar school is one of the world’s most renowned national music schools, you know what an enjoyable experience is! Each one of the four guitar players reproduced a part of the program he feels most comfortable with, which gave the repertoire special versatility. To save the best for last, the guitar duo Petar Čulić - Srđan Bulat performed at the end of the evening and played popular Spanish dance by composer M. de Falla. The applause they received lasted a long time and showed no signs of ending! All four of them appeared on the stage several times and the audience gave them fierce applause which lasted until their hands went numb. |
