The second prize at the international competition in Gevelsberg PDF Print E-mail

Petar CulicThe ninth international festival called "Gitarrenfestival Gevelsberg" was held from 4th – 11th April in Gevelsberg (Germany). Besides numerous master courses, lectures and concerts, a guitar competition also took place hosting more than twenty guitar players from 4 continents. After having successfully finished the first two rounds of competition, six best players were chosen to participate in the finals: Petar Čulić, Kunhwa Lee, Shawn Pickup, Cem Celiksirt, Evegeny Beleninov and Magdalena Kaltcheva.

5th December – 8th December 2008.

The 3rd category (students): duo Petar Čulić - Srđan Bulat; the first prize

The 45th National Chamber Orchestra Competition took place in Opatija from 5th December – 8th December 2008. The manifestation was organized by the Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Sport, the National Agency for Education and the Association of Music and Dancing Pedagogues of Croatia.

The manifestation featured 132 chamber orchestras from all over Croatia. The competition was held in three categories: the first category – primary music school, the second category – secondary music school, the third category - students. The members of the jury of experts were prominent Croatian musicians; president - Tonko Ninić, Adalbert Marković, Renata Penezić, Josip Novosel and Maroje Brčić.

Two first prizes on competition in Slovenia PDF Print E-mail

Petar CulicFrom 11th to 15th April, the 4th international „Morski Festival kitare" took place in Morska Sobota, Slovenia. The basic part of the festival was the competition which took place in the City hall in Morska Sobota and included a number of participants from Slovenia and the neighbour countries. Petar Čulić performed in two categories (7th category which included the guitarist born in 1986. and 1985. and the 8th category with no age limit), and won both first prize and golden acclaims. His success was further confirmed by winning the festival's four special awards, which allowed him to participate at four different guitar festival in the following year. Due to the above-mentioned awards, Petar played at the final concert where he performed the tango by composer V.Asencio and Rossiniana by composer M.Giuliani.

Petar CulicTwo gold medals won at Winter Guitar Festival in Volos (Greece). 9th Winter Guitar Festival took place in Volos, Greece from 4th till 7th January. The festival included a competition for guitarists from Greece and Europe. Twenty-year old Petar Čulić performed in two categories: in B category for the contestants born in 1986 and 1985, and in A category whith no age limit, i.e. for guitarists born in 1984 and older. Petar won gold medals in both categories! His performance was particulary impressive in A category in which he competed with much older guitarists , most of which had already completed their post-graduate studies all over Europe. Petar was the only guitarist performing at the competition's final concert in Metaxourgio cultural centre in Volos.

Petar CulicPetar Culic, one of the best world guitarists, won two Golden medals at the 9th Winter Guitar Festival which took place in Volos (Greece) between 4th and 7th January. The festival includes recitals, seminars, lectures, master classes and competitions of classical, flamenco, electric guitar, chamber music and guitar orchestra. The competition has 4 categories from A to D.

Petar Culic is a student of Art Academy in Split. The 20 years old virtuoso has already been awarded 27 awards in both national and international competitions, and has hold about one hundred solo-concerts so far.
