A ceremony at the Foyer of the Croatian National Theatre in Split took place on Thursday and marked the Day of the University of Split. As it has been costumary for this time of year and such festive occasions, the Chancellor of the University, Ivan Pavić, presented the best students with the awards and tributes. The Chancellors' award for the best student of the Music Academy was presented to our young musician from Dugi Rat, Petar Culic, for his extraordinary results achieved throughout his studies.
Since the first guitar of Dugi Rat seems to be doing everything "double" lately (he has recently won another two first award at the competition in Opatija), he was also awarded a special tribute of the University, another award, the Chancellors' award for the extraordinary artistic achievements in the academic year 2005/06. Congratulations! Double! This talented, hard-working and persistent young man from Dugi Rat (in addition to his student's responsibilities, his teaching at the music school in Omiš, and the preparations for numerous competitions and concerts) has for a while been preparing (organizing) a new cultural event with his like-minded colleagues - Split classical music festival, which will take place at the end of April. The preparations for the festival are getting into full swing, and we will know more details by the middle or the end of January. dugirat.com will among the first to be informed of the programme - says young and energetic Petar. |
